DeAna + Brendan – New York City Engagement Session

A few weekends ago the husband and I headed to New York for a close friends wedding.  They were married in the quiet old town of Binghamton but before we set out for that 3 hour drive we spend 24 hours in the city.  I decided to only shoot film so I am still waiting on that to get developed before I can share the images from our stay in NYC.  Stay tuned….

Until then, I was lucky enough to be able to squeeze a little engagement session in with this adorable couple who will be married next year in Los Angeles.

After a 5 hour red-eye flight that put us in to NY at 7am we drove right over to this amazing park to meet DeAna and Brendan.  It was the perfect setting for our mini-shoot.  A lovely warm, gloomy late summer day with a little bit of drizzle.  The dark clouds added such a dramatic touch to the beautiful skyline.  It was the perfect way to begin my mini-vaca.

I am so glad we got the opportunity to meet and take a few photos BEFORE they headed of to a full day of work.  What troopers!  It was hard to keep the session short because we were having so much fun.  I could have taken them all over New York if time permitted.

We’ll just have to make up for it on the wedding day. 😉

Kinsley + Jon – Malibu Beach Wedding

This summer I was incredibly lucky to witness so many fun and loving couples tie the knot.  As I sit here and pull together this blog post, I can’t help but smile ear to ear feeling so grateful for everything that has come my way this year.  I am so honored that these couples chose me to document one of the most important days they’ll have together. Kinsley and Jon are no exception.  What a delight they were to be around!  The whole day was filled with so much fun, love and laugher.  I know it sounds cliché but the bond they had with their friends and family was so unique and special it made it very hard to leave at the end of the night.. I’m excited to share some of my favorites from their beautiful beach wedding at The Sunset Restaurant in Malibu.  They couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. xoKinsJPG-1KinsJPG-2KinsJPG-3KinsJPG-4KinsJPG-5KinsJPG-6KinsJPG-7KinsJPG-8KinsJPG-9KinsJPG-10KinsJPG-11KinsJPG-12KinsJPG-13KinsJPG-14KinsJPG-15KinsJPG-16KinsJPG-17KinsJPG-18KinsJPG-19KinsJPG-20KinsJPG-21KinsJPG-22KinsJPG-23KinsJPG-24KinsJPG-25KinsJPG-26KinsJPG-27KinsJPG-28KinsJPG-29KinsJPG-30KinsJPG-31KinsJPG-32KinsJPG-33KinsJPG-34KinsJPG-35KinsJPG-36KinsJPG-37KinsJPG-38KinsJPG-39KinsJPG-40KinsJPG-41KinsJPG-42Vendor love:

Natalie + Mark – Malibou Lake Mountain Club Wedding

Natalie and Mark were married last month in beautiful Malibu Hills and with the help of Hana from Venus Event Design they treated their guests to one of the most charming weddings I have ever seen.

This slightly rustic, very romantic, vintage travel themed wedding was complete with custom hand carved tree trunks with the couples initials, vintage mail stamps, old suitcases and a record player.  The vinyl record even had a custom made label of the bride and grooms engagement photo!

The dinner menu and favors were designed by the bride and groom themselves.  (She did all the calligraphy and he hand drew the image on the little candy jar that served as the table place card.)

There were so many details that I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites.  Enjoy!

Karen + Paul – Ojai Valley Inn Wedding

Everything about Karen and Paul’s Ojai Valley Inn wedding was simple and sweet.  This adorably shy couple traveled all the way from London with 30 of their closest friends and family to get married in beautiful Ojai.  It was one of the most special and intimate weddings I have witnessed and I am truly honored to have been a part of their day.  Even though we had met just hours before they said their vows, I left feeling like I had made a few new friends.

xo Enjoy!

Nicole + Brock – Rancho Palos Verdes Wedding

Nicole and Brock were one of the most fun, unique and quirky couples I have ever gotten to work with.  There was no shortage of love and laughter on their wedding day.  Since many of their guests were flying in from Canada, Nicole and Brock wanted a “California Sunset Meets Ocean” vibe for their day.  I think they nailed it with the use of navy chevron stripes, “message-in-a-bottle” table escort cards and vibrant orange and yellow flowers.

Here are just a few of my favorite details from their wedding.  Enjoy!
