Some fun with film

It’s been almost a whole year that I have been playing around with shooting film which I haven’t done since my first few photography classes in college.

It wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be, especially working with the Pentax 645.  All the photographers I admire use the Contax but I couldn’t justify dropping that much cash on one piece of equipment……. yet.  It’s been fun incorporating film into some of my wedding and portrait work.  I hope to use it more and more.

I just went through some scans from the last few months of shoots.  Here are a few of my favorite frames.  Yay!

Hilary + Hallock – Ojai Valley Inn wedding

So I totally should have gone to bed 3 hours ago when I was tired but then some how I caught my second wind and instead decided to make mini blueberry, carrot muffins for toddler school tomorrow.  Now I am stuck here wide awake doing dishes, laundry, editing, blogging and watching GGTD.  Tomorrow is going to be rough but sometimes I swear I do better on no sleep than if I had a full 6 hours.  We shall see!

Anyway – enough of that.  Here are some images from the beautiful wedding of Hilary and Hallock last year at the always breath taking Ojai Valley Inn.  This couple was such a treat to work with and I just can’t believe it’s been 3 months already!

I certainly hope you are both doing well and enjoying married life!  I hope hope hope to see you and the family again.  Thank you for being SO amazing!

Kayde + Marc – Malibu Beach Wedding

What a whirlwind of a month it’s been.  Baby girl is one month old today and we are finally getting back into the swing of things.  There are so many fun weddings I have yet to share from last year.. like this one at Malibu West Beach Club.

Kayde and Marc were one of the most loving and emotional couples I have ever photographed.  They had a sweet and simple ceremony in the Malibu sand followed by one of the most darling beach inspired receptions I have ever seen.  Kayde did a phenomenal job on pulling together all the unique details.

Congrats you two!  I can’t wait to see where life takes you.
